Earth Balance Natural Spread is a product that I have always heard of; when you hear the name you automatically link it to vegans. People these days are still skeptical about vegans and their choice in lifestyle, some are turned off by the fact that they won't eat "normal" food, me on the other hand have always been fascinated by it. I always had an interested and a desire to follow a vegan diet, but I never thought I could actually go through with it because I "loved meat too much" or I "loved cheese and eggs too much to give them up"...since becoming a vegetarian almost ten months ago, those views and thoughts have completely changed.

Giving up meat was a whole lot easier than I believed it would be. It started because I wanted to better my health and following a plant-based diet seemed to be the perfect key to cooking more veggies and beans. Since my change I realized that its more than that, I loved being a vegetarian and even more the fact that my cooking skills developed and I discovered so many new flavors and ingredients! I noticed that my energy levels went up noticeably, and I was once I began working out more often I found myself motivated to keep going.

At the begining of the year, and after reading a book on veganism, I decided to make the transition. The day had finally come, and I began telling my family and friends about my decision [making it more official]. From that point on I began researching like a mad-woman, from finding new and delicious recipe ideas, cruelty-free bath and beauty products, home products, books, blogs, restaurant finds/reviews, vegan food brands...it was endless!

EARTH BALANCE is naturally delicious and packed with important ALA Omega-3s. Free from GMO's, trans fats, hydrogenated oils, and any artificial flavors of any kind! When I decided to go vegan, switching out butter was the first thing on my list. I went to Whole Foods [knowing that their carried it] and picked up my very first tub of Earth Balance!

I grabbed the one with Olive Oil, perfect for spreading over hot toast. With a hint of expelled-pressed extra virgin olive oil, this spread makes it easy to use. I've already done so much cooking with it; great for frying and saute's. The flavor is great, on a toast it tastes natural and clean. You can actually taste the oils used, and no funky "what's this flavor?" problem.
